There are actually 2 similar options: one allows for making secondaries hidden (they will never be promoted to master, nor will they allow for reads), and the other just allows them to never be promoted to master, meaning they're essentially always a read slave. If you set a slave delay to keep a secondary in the past, then I think it automatically becomes hidden. On #5 (slave delay), I forget the exact terminology, but you’re right.
